Well it's the last day of June and I realized I hadn't posted anything for this month. It feels good to look back on the past 30 days with a feeling of accomplishment and look forward to the new month starting tomorrow. I've come to learn about myself that I like beginnings, endings and change in general quite a bit. Here are some highlights for the month.
* June 2nd- Went to a highschool graduation for one of the older kids I take care of. Larry King was the speaker and that was rather entertaining.
* June 3rd- Went home for the weekend and attended my friend Piotr's wedding. The ceremony took place in a gazebo in downtown Safety Harbor. That was a first for me and it was really beautiful. Thanks for going with me Liz!
*June 4th- A good friend, Gloria, came back to Gainesville with me for the week. We don't see each other enough.
*June 7-10th- Welcomed a niece, Laurel Faith Jordan, into the family in Toccoa, GA on June 8th. I made the trip up there with my mom and it was pretty much filled with awesomeness. The weekend in GA made me really think about living up that way someday, preferrably in the carolinas.
June 15th- Dance party for Lauren's 21st birthday. Then staying up till 4am playing dutch blitz and rummy with Matt and Lauren (while kendra stared at us with a look of exhaustion). Now I'm aware that people do this sort of thing all the time for I used to be one of them. This is the first for me in a long while thus making it blogworthy. It was a blast.
June 22nd- Deanna Morris came to visit me for the weekend! We went to satchel's for dinner, YUM! Then later we hit up lollicup for some bubble tea followed by the bats! Satchel's and the bats are definitely some of Gainesville's specialties. Rock on.
June 23rd- I turned 22! A lot of people say they prefer to get to 21 then stop. I do not feel that way because every year just keeps getting better (I apologize for how cheesy that sounded). So a group of us went to a new restaurant in town , The Red Onion Grill, for dinner. There Meredith and Adam totally shocked me by giving me a new cell phone for my birthday! I was opening the gift as the phone was ringing and I was so confused then sunddenly it all came together and I registered what was happening. CRAZY! Its the new Chocolate phone from Verizon. Veri-nice. They also got me a nifty bluetooth. I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me feel fancy. So dinner was followed by a night of kareoke at my apartment. Thanks to everyone who made it out! I had a great birthday! And thanks to Deanna for such a fun weekend and my new cookbook! yummm
More exciting news- I now have every fri-sat-sun off. I work 10 hr shifts mon-thurs. Thats pretty sweet.
I promise not to stay away for a whole month next time.
